I feel that. My 88 had the second-gear start trans AND less power. The 94 (which I had first) had a first-gear start. The 88 would drop to 1st if you floored it from a stop, but that delay just killed it, no comparison.

The same crowd did that to me in my 94 E320 and 88 300CE, the 94 had the M104 and a respectable amount of power (~217hp) vs the 88's M103 (~177)

As a former employee, in my experience their prices are more fair the newer the car is. They’re primarily interested in cars they can sell on their lot, not at wholesale auctions. They will LITERALLY buy anything though. I have seen some S H I T come through.
