A million bucks a year is pretty steep but if I had 23 weeks a year as a ringleader in the international traveling circus I sure wouldn’t want to schlep it in coach
The 911 had no major styling changes between 1964 and 1989. They seem to have done alright.*
The first few years of Model S and maybe Model X got grandfathered lifetime free. Everybody else either has to pay OR can ride on referral bonuses. For quite a long time (years), it was every referral you get, both of you get 1000 miles of free Supercharging. Teslarati probably put their referral code in their…
Allegedly there are more public places to charge in the U.K. than there are petrol stations!
Well to be fair, their Superchargers have been open to other brands since February of this year in The Netherlands. Still not ‘later this year 2021' but it’s something!
Much like Apple’s Lightning, there is only really one proprietary car charger in common use for North America, the Tesla charger. The Tesla charger is smaller and came out before CCS was standardized, much like how Lightning came out before USB-C was standardized. All the new Teslas are compatible with an upcoming…
Kinda smug don’t you think? I used Garmin GPS for years (before smart phones), then once Google Maps took off, it was a lot better than Garmin, and I like Garmin. It’s almost like it’s personal preference...
The garmin gps really matches and exceeds the ability of google maps in android auto/android automotive? You can get directions while driving using a phrase as easy as “show me how to get to that pizza place on 6th ave”?
While I bet the Garmin is more accurate, I highly doubt it comes close to any of the features and…
Android Auto does let you choose different navigation apps, as long as they work with the Android Auto interface. The article is talking about Android Automotive, which is a very different product (despite the stupidly similar name). Android Automotive is the OS the cars built in infotainment system is running and…
I’ve thought long and hard about this and while I’ve never read it anywhere, I have to believe that the reason we don’t have proper phone mounts in cars is that manufacturers don’t want to be on the wrong end of litigation about distracted driving. Creating a phone mount in the car basically invites users to user…
Not to defend Google for these tactics, but let’s be honest Google Maps has been the go to for 99% of people for well over a decade. The only reason Waze even made anything of itself was because of the, I think it was, crowdsourced traffic data.
Why anybody would want to use something other than Google maps is beyond me.
For selling the RAM get offers from Carvana, Vroom and Carmax and see who offeres the highest bid. Usually those outfits are paying more than the dealers.
You are making the assumption that the Germans are as dumb about buying cars as Americans are (i.e “got to have it today”). I find that VERY doubtful.
An interesting sidennote to this ruling is that, as usual in such cases, the manufacturer does not have to reimburse the customer with the purchase price, but rather with the purchase price minus a fee for wear. This fee is dependent on the expected lifetime of the vehicle and the mileage covered..
Pre-empting all the whiners: Yes, this is automobile news.
Damned straight.
Agree, and just put my $$$ where my mouth is and bought a new Volvo V60
Manual transmissions are overrated for daily driving.
