I thought the clearly inhuman but still slightly angelic face of the robots in the iRobot movie were a good halfway point. You could still see expression, and human ques, but it was also clearly an artificial face.

So... should I watch this? Cuz....stupid action flick... is it entertaining?

The video was an interesting thought experiment, and one that brings up some interesting points. That said, when watching a movie, or consuming any fictional media, I try to go in with the expectation that there are only so many themes that can be addressed in a finite span of story telling.

The Savoirs are a violent gang who extort others for “protection”, and beat innocent people to death, order the beheading of the very leader who was giving them what they wanted to keep the peace, and God knows what else.

Yeah, I was watching the beginning of the episode showing a young religious devout Muslim man and his buddy and saying to myself “Please don’t be a terrorist, please don’t be a terrorist.” then “Ah shit. Well this, is really disappointing to say the least.” And then I was holding out hope that they were not

Is part of the paycheck, Rob. Be thankful your job only deals with toxic comments on the Internet, instead of actual toxic materials or infectious agents, like mine does.

Get off of my lawn article. Let’s repeat the endless cycle of people 20 years older not getting the thing the youngstars are doing these days. I say this as a 44 year old who remembers all the shot we Gen Xrs got. AS well as every generation before. Here’s an idea; those of us who are over age if 35 start writing

It’s IO9.

I remember reading a story in which the experimental FTL drive ran on sex... I think it was in Omni Magazine. Sounds like something they would have published.

Sorry man... It’s you.

That is impossible, since the world is only 12,000 year old. Some guy holding a sign on a street corner yelled that at me. So it must be true.

Can’t possibly be any worse than doing a post doc on the sciences.

Oh, yeah. I kind of read that as recruiting him to “help” not so much in the finding, but in the catching.

No one knows who Spiderman is. They don’t know he is a teenager. Now, if Tony does actually find out his secret identity, then maybe you are right to be concerned, though I hardly think a teenager who is one of the fastest, most agile and strongest super heroes (and certainly is one of the few supers who has such a

Doug Petrie “Hi Frank, I’m really a big fan and loved your original work. It’s super exciting for me to be able to work on a character that you made so iconic!”

That would be a fantastic idea. Very grim, and with knowledge of the outcome, very noir.

I for one, am super glad our technology has not advanced according to the timline in Blade Runner. Because as our society stands in the real world, we sure in hell would be doing the same shit with it as seen in the film if we did.

Sadly, this is probably the real reason. Don’t attribute to malice what can be attributed to the malice+stupidity of TV executive politics.

Well among the things you should NOT do is attack the accusers credibility.

I think it is really helpful to know how authors thought when reading their works. I mean, Lovecraft’s works are totally different when you know how xenophobic he was, but also how many other serious psychological and personal issues he was dealing with. Same with Howard, and of course, Huxley.
