Can I just say that as a non-American, I find this headline entirely baffling?

In the ANH novelisation (by Alan Dean Foster, though Lucas was credited as the author), Chewie does get a medal during the ceremony. These novelisations are generally based on a draft script, so it does seem the intention was for Chewie to get a medal somewhere along the line.

Sue perkins was a really great stand-up before she took to presenting. I’m sure it pays better, but it’s comedy’s loss.

Yeah, probably, hence “a Kenobi”, not neccesarily a daughter. But the premise does seem to be that being strong with the force is a dominant gene.

I think the loss of that character will leave a vacuum though.
