It isn’t even an edge case in the Washington DC suburbs. I see at least a couple of dead deer on the road / shoulder each week. We have deer wandering through our suburban neighborhood every day.

Main reason that this option needs a lot of additional R&D. I guess you can call it a “crash test” deer. The only problem is you gotta find more live ones. Glad it wasn’t a lost human with mental issues. I see a lot of advances since EV’s came to be, but they’re still not yet ready for primetime.
I think deer learn. A number of times, on winding back roads, I’ve seen deer standing in the ditch right next to the road, munching on the grass. They’re also less afraid of vehicles than they are living creatures. If you were walking along that road instead of driving, the deer would bound away.
They still offer it on the Escalade, but not sure about anything else. I don’t think its still in the heads up display, just the driver gauge screen but it now recognizes animals and pedestrians and highlights them and I think can give an audible warning.
I had a friend that was hit by a deer on the highway. You could tell from the location of the dent that the deer hit him, not the other way around. He took his truck in to get it fixed.
Do deer learn? I was driving in Utah a few years back, late at night, and for the one hour drive on a state highway, I must’ve seen literally a hundred deer. Every single thing that I thought might be a deer... ended up being a deer. It was the tensest drive I’ve ever had. I think I had an adrenaline crash at the end.…
Yes, they will jump from the woods right into the side of a car. Growing up in PA, I’ve seen and heard just about every deer story there is. Here, it is not IF you hit one, but WHEN.
That’s exactly what happened to my son, driving along at 50-55 and a deer ran into the side of his car and damaged 3 body panels.
Truth.
Not only do people regularly hit deer, I know multiple people who have had a deer hit the sides of their cars on the highway.
Knew a guy who was hauling ass on a quad along a treeline in November.
Someone should really offer some kind of insurance to cover the gap between what your car is worth and what you owe on it. They might even call it gap insurance.
She’s too busy suing to keep ballot initiatives to legalize pot or affirm abortion rights from actually getting to a vote, suing other states for not voting the way she likes, and helping organize violent mobs to stop Congress from counting electoral votes. She can’t be bothered with helping the people of Florida.
I don’t really have much sympathy for the C40 owner. The second guy yes, because most people in poor financial situations would probably not opt for the additional payoff coverage or GAP coverages for auto insurance. But the C40 owner could have researched this first, none of the issues are unknown, as I’m currently…
An 8 year old Mazda for $11k PLUS 27.9APR on a 68 month loan? HOLY SHIT...
I’d like Tesla to work properly in this situation, but I don’t trust a Musk product with knives.
I attended a livestock hauling course once and the instructor said deer on road, hit it, moose on road, swerve, I wonder if this Tesla was in this same course
Poor Financial Planning Totally Screws Man Over, And He’s Not The Only One
There, I fixed it.
This. I got hit with three photos tickets in the same place over two weeks before I got a single letter in the mail. At least when a cop pulls you over, you know instantly what to watch out for
I’m in Syracuse and they are planning to install cameras here. Everyday on my commute, I drive through by an elementary school with a posted 20mph speed limit. Everyday, I have someone on my bumper when I slow down to that speed. The cars ahead and in the other lane seem to ignore the speed, too.
