0 makes 1 considerably better if you play 0 first. Like, having more than 10 minutes of backstory for your relationship with Nishiki makes the main plot hit a lot harder, and you actually care about some of the minor characters like Reina thanks to 0 giving her a lot more buildup.

This kind of thing is why more games need built-in replays. Not just so that you can show off, but so that a verifiable replay is required for posting to leaderboards. (See, for example, the community leaderboards for Doom speedruns.)

The only reason companies drop the price of games is because they stop selling well enough. That doesn’t happen for Nintendo very often, so there’s no reason to do it.
