I think that’s fair. A divisive film that made a billion dollars wouldn’t be on my list of the worst movies of 2019. Unless I was predisposed to dislike it.

Some people like it and others didn’t...and so? Presumably most of the staff here didn’t like it, as it made their list of worst movies of the year. Why you feel the need to refute that is beyond me.

That is the white wale of RE remakes for me. RE3? Eh. But Code Veronica? Yes, please!

Any RE remake in the spirit of the RE2 remake is good news, although RE3 was one of my less favorite RE’s. By the time of 3, I was bored of the things that felt the same, and didn’t really like the things that they changed either. Still, I’m glad they’re making it.

Through which I would conclude that the OP’s original statement of, “you wished for it to bomb,” was more right than wrong.

Makes sense that the AV Club would take the first superhero (villain) film since Logan to actually have anything meaningful to say and say it is THE WORST. Much worse than CGI fests involving the fighting of inter dimensional beings with the entire universe at stake.

And yet it’s on their worst movies of 2019 list, so...?

Joker is on there because the media movie review give mind decided it was “dangerous” and had the temerity to focus on a white guy living on the margins of society. What utter BS.

It's a joke you don't like.

Bioshock either needs better shooting mechanics or less shooting. That really hit me in the last Bioshock game. The shooting mechanics were extremely pedestrian and dated, so it surprised me just how much of the game was getting into gunfights and experiencing such mediocre mechanics.

I second a return to Rapture, or a Rapture II or whatever. Just so it’s under the sea. That claustrophobia is one of the key elements of the franchise. They went the opposite with Columbia, going from claustrophobia to agoraphobia, but it just didn’t have the same impact or sense of place.

Hopefully they rejigger the formula a bit. Like most people Bioshock 1 blew me away, and 2 was a nice continuation. The third game though left me a bit cold. I think the controls and shooting mechanics in particular need an update. And while 3 explored a different type of dystopian world than 1, it still felt

Maybe the cast is not that talented and that's the reason for the change.

Play it on the hardest difficulty setting, that's when it becomes a truly special experience.

You must be a bellyaching fascist then, because only bellyaching fascists could have a problem with Disney’s Star Wars.

As the supposed climax to both a recent trilogy and a decades-spanning nonet, Rise Of Skywalker has a lot to live up to, including the smart, ambitious filmmaking of its immediate predecessor, The Last Jedi.”

Reach was the pinnacle of the Halo series, for me. Despite the obvious effort and polish that 343 Studios put into the sequels, they just aren’t as good. I think the design thinking for Halo 4 & 5 skewed too much towards a cooperative experience.

As well as not wanting motor traffic, the cost of building and maintaining a trail that can handle even limited motor traffic would be exponentially higher than the simple wooden walkways they have there.

To be fair, if the wife in the ad was ugly and 100 pounds overweight, I think people would be even more unhappy about it.

Also, she films her rides in portrait mode. And I thought this couldn’t get any worse!
