I mean the trademark claim is weird to make about a human, but nothing quoted from the documents is that weird if you are trying to make a trademark claim.

Also, if this was an attempt of the DNC elites to protect their golden boy, its a pretty stupid way to do so. Even if, as I noted in my previous post, there’s no there there with the Biden/Ukraine thing, finally making the decision to impeach Trump over this is going to keep a shady aura around Biden/Ukraine front and…
I think the potential cost of impeachment has always been overstated, especially when compared to the costs of not pursuing impeachment would have with the Democratic base.
Also, unlike a lot of the other impeachable offenses I could list here, this one is more directly tied to Trump’s official duties and specifically the abuse of that power for his own gain.
I think the fact that it was Biden didn’t really change the calculus here, the response would probably have been the same with any other Democratic candidate. That said, at this point in the 2020 race, it’s highly unlikely that it would have been any candidate other than Biden. For one thing it seems pretty clear that…
Exactly, one call (that will be hand picked by the White House to be as banal as possible while still containing something damning enough to claim that call is what all of the fuss is about) is not the same thing as the full whistleblower report that was determined by a Trump appointed IG to be of urgent concern.…
Just because not all Bernie supporters are Bernie Bros, and that many women and POC (more than most other Democratic candidates) support Bernie, doesn’t mean that the phenomenon isn’t real and that a vocal minority of Bernie supporters are Bernie Bros.
While its tempting to try to rehabilitate Aunt Lydia based on her actions in The Testaments one thing I appreciated about the novel is that she constantly owns the evil of her past. She acknowledges the choices she made that led her to where she is at the end of the novel and doesn’t ask her readers for absolution and…
I’m not saying that excuses her from blame, I just thought the author’s critique was a bit unfair in the sense that the Huffman-Macys probably had good reasons to keep their daughter at her school even with the bad guidance counselors because they had the means to seek out a private college counselor.
Note that I think Felicity Huffman definitely was in the wrong and deserves criminal consequences. On the school thing though, I think I read somewhere that Huffman’s daughter (at least the one they bought the scores for) went to a public magnet arts school. It’s entirely possible the guidance program there would be…
I appreciate the ease of use of the user interface, but that’s just a matter of good software design. The actual hard products like the buttons and what not seem boring and cheap. My Mazda CX-5 interior looks more upscale than that (even though the user interface is slow and laggy and a generation behind).
No more absurd than your claim that we are an election away from socialism.
Because Hillary Clinton would have lead us straight down the path to socialism...
The President shouldn’t be sharing disinformation about things like hurricanes just because he doesn’t want his ego bruised.
I don’t think I will ever convince you, and I agree that since the DNA test incident she has handled everything deftly and impressively, but at the same time every single reaction to the DNA test in the first place was completely predictable and she wouldn’t have had to do the damage control had she not publicized the…
I agree that she has handled it well, and she has apologized and reached out to the right people and we should all move on, and I completely agree with you that most of the people still calling her out on it are right wing propagandists (and extreme Bernie or Bust types who see Warren as a threat to Bernie’s…
Well it was a self-own in that it played right into the right-wing propaganda machine’s hands. She should have just kept ignoring them for all the reasons you stated...
There are clear differences between sex and gender (although sex is less “immutable” than you claim), but the crux of this case is that gender discrimination should still be covered by our laws protecting people from sex discrimination, because it is a form of sex discrimination, namely the idea that because you are a…
Yeah in my experience most vegetarians that are vegetarian largely for the I don’t eat animals reasons are not fans of beyond/impossible burgers. That said my friends who gave up meat for environmental/health reasons tend to love them (although the health ones are sad when I point out the beyond/impossible burgers are…
Yeah, aside from cholesterol, which is radically lower than a meat Whopper, these are basically nutritionally on par with the meat Whopper, and they have a decent amount more sodium. That said, they are a far more satisfying and similarly unhealthy option for vegetarians than fast food salads.
