I’ve driven a few and they’re wildly lax in terms of tech for the grassroots kind of events. They’re heaps of fun but it’s definitely a “run what you brung at your own risk” kinda deal. Most of them are low speed enough that as long as you’ve got a helmet, it’s just your car at risk.

The fan doesn’t do shit at speed. It’s a matter of the size of the heat exchangers and the flow path through them. Even the NA C6Z runs hot on track. These cars have small radiator openings from the factory and often need some mods to keep oil & water temp at a reasonable range. Even on an NA E85 LS7 I’m still running…
All other things being equal, I cannot fathom why you would want less power. Unless you can’t afford the gas/pads/fuel etc costs associated with it, more power = quicker lap times = more fun (for most people). More power also means more options, different lines to try, etc. That’s all more fun as far as I’m concerned.

Ya some of those can look really damn good. Nice to see some colors outside of the typical dark blue bmw. Been seeing a lot of metallic brown lately and it’s a pretty great color on the larger sedans.

Could just be that this particular ABS system is garbage and that locking all 4 wheels with the diffs ends up damping out sudden changes in wheel speed and makes the stop more controllable.
