I want to know how many 20-something ingenues have the money to buy dresses from Dior. It seems to me that the designers are designing to the models and the advertisements they will appear in and no longer for the women who actually have the money to wear them.

I'm gonna wait out and here the responses. Me, for my part, I have also been out of the dating scene as I got married young and subsequently divorced young. Ten years have passed, but my situation is the opposite of yours. All touching and no talking. A lot of the men I have dated have pressed physicality first, but

Yeah, bad work on the part of the writer. Not only does she not give much info past the breed, she also spent most of her space talking about her texting habits. I find that happens with a lot of the "journalistic" efforts on the Gawker sites. Just because you don't have to measure your copy in inches of newsprint

Not so much that women with pubic hair are gross or dirty - simply "un-groomed," or lazy - like wearing wrinkled clothing to a job interview. It's bullshit. It takes vanity to a whole new level.

I think Jon said it well that basically, the Fox announcers were saying that Bullies, Thugs and Sexists were being discriminated against in our new feminized society.

And I don't know how old you are, but that style always ends up in your butt.

Well, that is also a 14-year-old girl.

Hmmm. I guess it depends on what "middle class" means to you. To me, she is upper middle class... suburban living in a big home, money in the fam for probably camp in the summer and ski trips in the winter. Parents have professional white collar jobs with advanced degrees. Maybe her parents even bought her a starter

Just hoping Gawker is paying your Equinox bills too, because I need to change professions in that case!

And the jewels so obviously wanted to be liberated, right?

Kermit the frog.

I think part of the problem with her assumption is that her producers also come from that world. So, it would make sense that affluent white suburban transplants to NYC would endorse and want to support this show because it reflects their experience as well. It's also why SNL looks the way it does. The people who fund

That's her deal though - horribly twee and fey. I think I saw another photo with a close-up of her daisy manicure. Actually was surprised to Dunham dressed like a woman, because she has a tendency toward baby style too.

Yeah, I also hated 'Sex and the City', which 'Girls' is a straight parody of, but nobody ever tried to say that it was a direct interpretation of real people living in Manhattan.

To be fair, I think that's the point of the show - like it's Oh So Meta that they're even making fun of themselves!

And blame ourselves for it to boot.

Thank you for this. I also have anxiety problems... I think it's wonderful that your son is able to help you remember the kind of self care you need for yourself. I get better at reminding myself how I need to be treated and how I want to think of myself, but - hoo-wee - if I don't have to fight to remember that I'm

Lindy West, good god! Her writing is TERRIBLE! I guess she must think that kind of hyperbole is funny, but to me, it's just terrible and annoying.

For me? LISTS!!!!! If I make a list of what I need to do in the day, that makes a huge difference. Also, establishing a schedule. Getting up at the same time everyday and exercise!!!!

I appreciate you saying this. I left my abusive, substance abusing ex two years ago and still feel like a freak for feeling damaged by it. I've actually gotten over the actual damage he caused and have learned to forgive him, but I'm having a hard time forgiving myself for having gotten into the situation to begin
