Yeah, it’s one thing when you say so-and-so harmed my career, be they a director or producer or fellow actor.  But when seemingly EVERYONE has harmed your career, that sounds more like grievance collecting and paranoia, and resentment over the fact that Mo’Nique felt her Oscar win meant she was entitled to more roles

So it sounds like they completed a pilot with Waller-Bridge, and then recast?  That would be fascinating to compare the two, and see what her take on Jane was going to be.

The thing that bothers me is her husband escaped completely unscathed.  Bull.  There’s no way he didn’t know, wasn’t involved in someway.  I think but I think Huffman took the fall because Macy still had his gig with Shameless and stood to lose more by being prosecuted.  Which makes me hate him.

This is why you get a good attorney to negotiate your contract/license agreement.  Seems clear she signed a shortsighted agreement that made no provision for future revenue streams via platforms not yet devised.

Oh yeah her dad was a POS who came out of the woodwork when she got famous, and he treated her as a meal ticket, and way for him to cash in on his own failed aspirations for fame.

And since it’s being made with the approval of her scummy dad, you know it won’t be anywhere near truthful or honest.

Lydia: “How’s Adam?”
Barbara: “Oh, he’s off somewhere being a ghost, along with your dad Charles.”

So Beetlejuice²

Yeah I need to read up more on how Juno is regarded today. The main lingering criticism of it that comes to mind is that it has a pro-life agenda.

Ooh that’s a good question. Time has certainly not been kind to it. Of course a big problem is the presence of Kevin Spacey. That makes it hard to watch now. Let’s say for the sake of arguing that Spacey was still in good standing, and not a horrible SOB. I think had the film not won Best Picture, it might fare a

This. Winning an Oscar isn’t the best thing. Sometimes it can be the worst thing. Driving Miss Daisy will go down through the years, as the film that won the year Do the Right Thing wasn’t even nominated. Same with How Green Was My Valley winning over Citizen Kane (though HGWMV is a beautiful film in its own right).

Honestly, I think it’s pure publicity.  They’re guaranteed to get scads of free publicity and more page views every time they tweak the clock closer to midnight.

That poor kid is gonna get swallowed whole by Scientology.

I made a documentary several years ago, about an unsolved missing persons case out of Chicago. And it was amazing how quickly the police zeroed in on an explanation for what happened, and ceased any and all other avenues of investigation, even though their solution had major flaws, and disregarded a lot of

Did you have the DARE program in school growing up? My school had it. We had a cop that would hang around, and give lectures about not doing drugs and how you need to tell a cop if you see something.

This. It doesn’t matter whether they catch the right person. All that matters is they can report another case closed, so their statistics look good.

“Yeah, yeah, just fill my tank butthead.”

Thank god Ziegler isn’t playing an autistic kid this time.

“Sorry about the face!”

Or the Stella comedy troupe. And you nailed it. At the end of the day, those guys just have no star qualities. It’s like they all have taken for a given that they’ll be comedians, but haven’t, you know, attempted to develop personas, routines or anything comedic.
