I agree wholeheartedly.  Gladstone was the standout.  She deserves the Oscar.  But the film did not need to be as long as it was, and it felt so...ordinary.  I mean, maybe it’s unfair to hold him to a higher standard, but when I go see a Scorsese film, I expect something special, and Flower Moon felt like a movie well

I agree. I think the script had some flaws...the whole subplot with Will Farrell didn’t work, and felt like a sop to Mattel Corporate, but Gerwig’s direction made the whole thing come alive.

Yeah 2023 in hindsight is gonna be seen as one of the great years in film.  It was really excellent, so yeah, there are bound to be more than a few deserving films that get overlooked.

“The coin don’t have no say in this.  But these double fudge brownies....”

Maybe he can get Nate Parker to help distribute.

“You stand to win everything. Call it.”

Turns out Fargo were the friends we made along the way.

Often times this right to a director’s cut is limited to a single, contractually obligated screening, after which all bets are off. This is how RKO burned Orson Welles with The Magnificent Ambersons. When Welles made Citizen Kane, he had the right to Final Cut. The film had to be released with approval, or not at all.

Meanwhile the original cut of “The Assassination of Jesse James” still remains un-clamored for.

Which is another reason the new series failed for me because she wasn’t she hulk that often.

I really wanted them to make it an homage to the original Bill Bixby series. Embrace practical effects and have two actors playing Jennifer and She Hulk

And it could’ve been simpler, and more effective, if they’d looked to Maslany’s previous show Orphan Black.  Employ practical makeup effects, use a suitably tall bodybuilder type for She Hulk, and digitally composite Maslany’s face on the actor.

This.  Either make fewer Marvel shows and really invest in the budget, or strive for more cost effective approaches, with more practical effects.

The frustrating thing is it didn’t need to be expensive. I really feel like this story needed to harken back to the Incredible Hulk series with Bill Bixby. Go for more practical effects, employing bodypaint and having a bodybuilder type actress to play She Hulk, and if you really must, you could use the same tech as

The truth is she is Welsh, and hails from llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

Ugh, if there is one thing I tire of more than anything, it is some old proclaiming the Good Ole days are dying things were better, the Golden Age has ended.  Bullshit.  It’s called change.  It’s neither good or bad, but always inevitable when it comes to art and entertainment.

David O Russell is a piece of shit, and if there is one director still working in Hollywood who should be forever blacklisted, it’s him.

Which then makes  you wonder, why not just do a straight up remake?  I’d be fine with that.  It’s one of those stories that could be really interesting to see get reimagined every generation or so.

Werner Herzog.

Dear GOD!
