I’m surprised how frequently Bay Area counterculture is being described in the past tense when one of the bigger news stories of the past year has been the Ghost Ship fire. There’s a whole underground network of art spaces. Counterculture’s still alive (albeit struggling for breath) in the Bay Area. Just not in the

I only know about the Hamptons from Grey Gardens but this confirms the claim that they are full of staunch women.

Oh no! I guess every kid has their thing. I was way more concerned about the videos for “Black Hole Sun” and “Closer,” myself.

There’s this huge trend of everybody taking their dance photos outdoors and it always drives me crazy to see everyone’s shoes getting destroyed. Pointe shoes melt in the mud and anything sharp is gonna go right through those canvas slippers. Come on, guys. Get back indoors. Don’t get tetanus.

It’s worth checking out if you’re a completist. It’s extremely... arty. Experimental. (And other euphemisms for “unwatchable.”)

Oh my God, my high school self is so jealous. I went to prom with boys who were very nice but not interested in girls, and my super uptight friends and I got into zero trouble, and had to go to bed right after returning from the dance because we always had an early morning theatre rehearsal, the next day. An adventure

Sex ed was so confusing in Catholic school.
