I am not a fan of Tesla, and the only thing that makes really them any better than direct EV rivals is range. So getting a low range Tesla doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

I suspect things would be different if there was a proper high-speed chase involved, or if Lange was ignoring the officer for several miles, but since the officer lit him up in front of his house, the justification that Lange was failing to stop is dubious.

I think using currents is actually a significant part of it. This is probably why these kind of trips always start in the continental US and head towards Hawaii rather than the other direction, which would be against the ocean current.

I get how something like this could have failed. Solo human powered oceanic crossings are no joke. On the other hand, I’m a bit surprised to see sea sickness as a contributing factor. With 2 years of prep, I would have thought he’d know if he could get sea sick.

Desert is defined by rainfall. Anything that gets less than 10 inches a year qualifies, regardless of vegetation. Spain has the only true desert in Europe, but there are apparently semi-deserts in Italy, Romania, and Serbia too.
