Exactly! Cut emissions, cut fuel costs, increase versatility, reduce repair costs, why the fuck wasn’t this a thing a decade ago?!
I never understood the whole “I don’t want a minivan because of my masculinity” thing. But I think this design could change that argument. Kind of a Ford Flex/GMC Acadia minivan...thing. I dig it.
I always felt the Volt was the perfect setup - enough capacity to run electric for commuting / running errands around town, but no range anxiety or waiting to recharge for long trips.
They haven’t updated the car in 10 years now (along with Charger). They sell them because a lot still buy them and they’re cheaper to produce than most cars (due to the lack of R&D costs). It is the last large American V8 sedan left.
I think (hope) that this is what was actually meant by that comment. If you can afford the car in cash you can afford it, from there you should finance it if you can get a rate low enough that your expected returns in some other investment vehicle will outpace the interest.

If I buy a car for 20k, or even 80k, then I have another 80 laying around. Simple, do not live beyond your means. Praise to you if you invest that money, but most of the people do not and it does not change the fact you always loose out on leasing.
