I am no expert but I see 2 likely reasons for this.

Ask any army mechanic how they feel teens treat the vehicles they have to fix. Not saying there aren’t responsible teens out their but their brains are still developing when we give them the keys to a 72 ton Abrams.

So instead of paying a high enough wage to attract more drivers, they want to allow teenagers to do the work since they’ll work cheap.  This feels like the domestic equivalent of offshoring for cheap labor.

Agreed. Dodge still makes money. Even though the platform is old as dirt folks are still buying Chargers and Challengers.
