Oh dear god. I am now terrified you will kick off a twin snorkel craze. I really don’t want to see a dually bro-dozer with twin big-rig stacks, twin snorkels, and giant light bars hung between them.

No amount of marketing will change the fact that the iX is a load of Hooy.
Batteries are very expensive.
Look, I get the idea of subscribing to a feature that is in regular development, like, say, level 2 or 3 autonomy. It takes a constant effort to continually improve such features, and it really isn’t any different than a software subscription on a computer I paid for. BUT, the idea of subscribing to a static piece of…
I want a single tool that on one end is an adjustable crescent wrench with an articulating head, and on the other side is a bit driver with a reversible bits containing #2 phillips/flathead, T20/T25, and T27/T30. The bits would fit in a magnetic 8mm socket. A pry tool that folds out of the body and serves as the cover…
Yes
I’m getting the sense you don’t actually know anything about the Rivian. The R1T was designed first and is 18" longer than the SUV so there was no chopping off of anything and there isn’t anything that makes it less practical unless you are doing soccer mom duty and need the 7 seats.
I am aware of that. I am describing what I consider a motorcycle.
I wasn’t aware a Goldwing could be had in an automatic. I suppose I’ll need to revisit my definition.
For my definition a motorcycle requires 3 things:
The graph starts at 105 but that is only about 17 seconds before impact. Autopilot was disengaged 40 seconds before the collision. That is a really long time to mistake the brake pedal for the accelerator.
Agreed, except I feel if you want to allow Autopilot to be engaged you need to mandate automatic braking to be engaged as well. If this guy had fallen asleep rather than driven like a douche there would still be an accident of some kind.
If you want to build a performance brand you need to commit. Only 4 cars over the 17 years, and only once was the Mazdaspeed treatment given to the Miata, their most iconic sports car. That is not a good way to build an enthusiastic fan base.
I wonder how fast he was going when autopilot kicked off. I imagine it was waaaay over the speed limit even before the driver bafflingly continued to accelerate. This begs the question: Is Tesla thinking in allowing autopilot to go that fast? And given Tesla owners’ poor record of staying away while driving, how can…
I really hope the upcoming F150 EV helps reduces the EV stigma in that group.
If they made a bare bones stripped work truck with a single cab and an 8ft bed coal rollers would still act like dicks. They hate EV’s for their politics more than what the truck actually costs.
I’ll remember that next time I see a King Ranch F-350 that’s never done a day’s work in its life.
Given that this is only the midrange spec of what Rivian is planning, I wonder where it will top out when the 400 mile version comes out a year later. I suspect it will come close to $100k, but to your point, a fully-optioned Ram TRX is around that too.
Yep. Still want one anyway.
It sure looks like it will be similarly equipped, if not quite a bit nicer. The interior looks like a very pleasant place to be.
