For the record, the 1999 Reds didn’t just watch the Mets win 97; they actively helped them do so, letting Al Leiter shut them out at home in a one-game tiebreaker on a miserably cold Cincinnati night. Not that I bitterly remember going to that game or anything.

Not the Antonio Brown come back story I expected.

Wouldn’t a three run homerun from a Javy Lopez or a Jorge Posada be helpful as well ? And if the catcher in question is good enough for Tom Glavine or Andy Pettite should the same catcher be good enough for another pitcher on the same staff ?
