I find it rather baffling that the article's author says that grammatical diversity hasn't received much academic attention. Grammatical diversity not only across languages (aka "language typology"), but within languages, is kind of the whole basis on which entire theories of human language capacity distinguish

They are "rules" in a similar sense as, I dunno, "laws of economics". In the case of grammar "rules", they are convenient and mostly-but-not-quite-accurate distillations of observed patterns of how language is actually used in some population.

It means "nowadays, having changed since some earlier time we recently mentioned or thought about in this conversation". Just like regular "anymore" ("I don't drink vodka anymore") but not limited to a negative context.

Thanks, that actually helps my motivation to re-examine KOTOR. Everyone feels stupid saying "just play it for five hours and then you'll like it", but I know it can be true, so that's good to know.

Transistor is pretty dope. I recommend turning on each of the "Limiters" as you get them, so that then when the game gets actually hard later on, you can just turn them all off and feel superpowered.
