Star Trek Beyond was the best of the 3 Kelvin timeline films. I’d like to see another one, honestly.

The look of utter boredom on his face at the end both totally sells it for me, and perfectly mirrors my feelings on the book.

I will also be sitting there thinking, ‘Oh, there’s Woody Harrelson’. NO ONE takes me out of movies like Woody Harrelson. He is the Woody Harrelsonist.

People need to stop thinking of Han Solo as Harrison Ford rather than an actual character that multiple actors could put their spin on.

He doesn’t need to be Harrison Ford’s clone to do a good job.

You are prejudging a performance based on one line...

I suspect that regardless of who was cast to play young Han, fans would find fault with it, simply because it isn’t Harrison Ford.

Thank you. Continuity was never as airtight as people make it out to be. There were always inconsistencies. It’s to be expected on a series that’s 50 years old and has had many writers and showrunners.

I guess the thing is, I grew up on X-Men comics. I’m fine with flexible continuity, so the details don’t bug me so much.

For what it’s worth, I’m watching the aftershow right now, and they briefly touch on this moment (along with their transporter override through the shields) as indicative of just how desperate the Federation is at this point.

Personally, I think that some fans have a weird fixation on “pushing forward in years.”

Almost every show might as well be a soft reboot since Star Trek has always been bad with continuity. Voyager shouldn’t exist because ships could already cross the entire galaxy in days in TOS.

So, the writers competently seeded their storylines, rather than having shit happen at random?
