I mean, you go to a dealer expecting a conman for a salesman, but maybe not this level of conman.
Also, “we didn’t want to inquire into his criminal record.”
But he didn’t buy from the dealership, remember? He bought it privately from the literal conman that worked there. There’s not a universe where I trust a guy willing to sell his private car like that.
Usually you don’t get the title right off the bat when you buy from a dealer.
This is a pretty simple statement of claim:
I paid cash for a car and they threw on temp tags and told me it would probably be 2-3 weeks before I got the title in the mail. My temp tags expired before I ever saw that title, I ended up getting a ticket because they dragged their feet mailing a piece of paper.
I’ve never purchased a car from a dealership and gotten the title right away. Just a bill of sale. And if it were sold through the dealer they could have stepped in before the sale was through and said “yo. You owe money for this car and can’t sell it” or there would be a contract and they’d have no right to reposess…
And the kid needs to sue the Dealership. They should have insurance to pay out the $10,000.
That last little bit is not a good track record to have when you’ve put yourself and a 16-year-old kid into this kind of situation. And while the dealer is trying to make it right for Fredricks, he’s still out of $10,000 and a car.
“Freelance salesman” as in “We don’t want to pay employment taxes, so we’re going to 1099 this guy even though he meets the definition of an employee?”
If they are unwilling to do that they could potentially give him a car worth $10,000 and it would also be satisfactory. Perhaps a certain 2016 Mazda CX-5.
And while the dealer is trying to make it right for Fredricks, he’s still out of $10,000 and a car.
Once again the age old lesson bites someone in the ass: No title? No cash transfers hands.
None? Considering how many BLs were convertibles... I find that statement very hard to believe.
As an owner of a car featuring said legendary BL build quality... that is a very bold statement. I have to wonder if you really know how bad Tesla would have to be to match the dismal standards set forth by Leyland and Lucas.
If they can really command 98% of the normal price for selling a car with 88% of the capacity, they have minimal incentive to change.
Tesla has build quality and marketing scams that would make old British Leyland wince. And a cultish following willing to overlook those thing that would make Scientology envious.
Sir, you are clearly still imposter Torch, as the real person has children of appropriate age and would know that Chuck E. Cheese makes frequent appearances in the restaurant.
The pack was brand new when the vehicle was built? What vehicle? The 2021 Model 3 that’s being sold with the pack, or another one that could be as old as one from 2017? I can’t quite make sense of this.
