Why do we need a National Day of Prayer?

Pretty rude but then Clinton is a public figure so the order in which she lists her roles might matter or mean something to more than just this writer.

I kind of loved her first two records and I’m not sure I love her newest material the same way....but this description of her reception, and how she’s lifting up other artists, makes me really happy.

“Dunkirk” getting snubbed both at Best Director and Best Picture made my night. First because it’s shitty. Second, because the tears of Nolanites are always reinvogarating...

If you’re not trained, and if you have a criminal disposition—a violent disposition—it can be turned into a killing machine.

Two things I noticed about this article:

As a fellow wimp for horror movies, I enjoyed Get Out and was not that scared at any point. It was a tense and creepy movie, but not super scary. Admittedly I have only seen a few horror movies, but it was less scary than the Hannibal movies I’ve seen and Scream (admittedly I saw that almost... god...20 years ago?)

Anyone else stuck in this weird spot where you’re generally happy/hopeful about the direction your own life specifically is headed, but the state of the world and the direction its heading constantly drags you down, so you want to just completely ignore and shut out the news, but you feel an obligation to keep

io9ers, my apologies. I know this isn’t proper, but I hope y’all don’t mind if I post my own Shape of Water tribute art.

Props to you for getting to that place of actually making money! That’s quite the accomplishment. I’ve been doing it semi-professionally for years, and I’ve made my peace that I will never get there. The few performers I’ve known who made it there had to do so much travel, social networking, and general hustling.

Yes. This. I used to be a professional burlesque performer - as in it was something I did because I loved it but also aimed to make money from it, flew around the country to do it, etc. It was hard as fuck and I was thrilled the year I broke even, and even more thrilled the years I actually made a good amount of money

This is ridiculous so we need to provide context.

Female drag queens are totally a thing, though not as highly visible as traditional queens and not the same thing as drag kings.

Also, Chidi never makes fun of Eleanor despite her ignorance, and he is surprisingly jacked!

I’ve had people wonder why I’m attracted to Chidi. First, William Jackson Harper is a handsome dude and a terrific actor. Second, Chidi is smart, compassionate, and loyal, if super-irritating at times. I feel like that slow dance validated my attraction.
