True, but it also has to do with a lot of their games rarely degrading in price. Like when I see Disgaea 5 Collection and Mario Kart 8 are still full price on Amazon, I die a little inside. Oh, and DK Tropical Freeze is $60 bucks out of the gate despite being a straight port of a last gen game.

I’m certain you’ll see a Zelda Collection at some point. They’ve done one for most of the other major Nintendo franchises, but it will only be up to Majora’s Mask as people are clearly still willing to pay for HD ports of the last few gens.

IIII. Thou shalt not put games on sale (very often).

It was considering you could get some rare and expensive games for cheap. Obviously it wasn’t the best way to own every game, but there was nothing stopping you from buying those compilation discs or whatever that existed for some of those games, and just buying the ones on VC that were a good deal comparatively.

First of all, I want to say the tone of this article is disgustingly and unwarrantedly optimistic. Virtual Console was by no means perfect. But the newest iterations did have save states, which is absolutely essential in retro game rereleases, in my opinion. Plus, we’ve already seen the chaotic world of uneven

I really hope your right, but my fear is that alot of the classics I want to play are going to only be available in collections or not at all. What if I only want to play Mega Man 2? Them I’m forced to pay $30+ for one game. Sure, it’s a bargain when you look at the whole package, but being able to pick and choose

The SNES Classic is a great device (especially when unlocked) but it’s still separate from the world of portable possibility the Switch made possible. Sure, I have an insane library on the Classic, but it’s less useful when it’s tethered to a TV.

Add that to the currently-existing business of standalone retro mini-consoles, and Nintendo would have all its bases covered: Want to own games forever? Buy a collection. Want to dabble in everything, but not own anything? Subscribe to the service. Don’t want a Switch? Buy the mini-console.

The Virtual Console was a lot more than just old Nintendo games. It filled a legal niche of conveniently purchasing products that Nintendo and publishers will likely never re-release. Publishers that no longer exist or whose IPs have been gobbled up by other companies may not feel like reviving interest due to poor

• Games will still be drip fed. (See Arcade Archives, Sega Ages, NeoGeo Station, PlayStation 1 and 2 Classics, or any other classics initiative.)

If you’re trying to imply that when Steph Curry was born he didn’t drive his mother home from the hospital I’m just not buying it.

Either that’s a helluva generous six, or my standards are out of whack.
