Yep. As much fun as I’m having with Arceus, I bought it in the hopes that they’d realize this is what people have wanted in the mainline games. Which is a crapshoot given their record. An open-world mainline game is what I’ve wanted since the GBA days. The fact that it’s already underway makes my 33 year old ass

There’s plenty of good looking switch games. Mario Odyssey, Astral Chain, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Xenoblade 2, Link’s Awakening. Hell the 2016 Doom port looks nearly as good as the other console versions. And that’s ignoring some gorgeous 2D games. Of course if you’re expecting Ghost of Tsushima, you’ll be disappointed.

This game has likely been in development for a while, and the backlash over PLA’s graphics has only peaked in the last month. It’s not like they could revamp the whole engine before this announcement. Hopefully there’s some improvement, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Arceus has been a ton of fun, but it’s definitely not a very robust game. It feels like a prototype or proof of concept in some ways. If this next gen is the same template with more fleshed out mechanics and content, you’d probably be fine waiting.

The last gen where I actually liked most of the designs was Gen 4, it’s been pretty much downhill since Black and White at least. If GF wasn’t so cloistered (heh) they’d be smart to entice fans to submit their designs. Fans have been dreaming up there own monsters for decades and some of them are very clever. Just

The bridge is a late game boss that scales in power based on how many times you cross it.

Normally I’m on the other side of the fence, but I had no qualms about pre-ordering the physical copy. My faith in Miyazaki is unshakeable.

I spent years trying to find shadow in the world of ruin over multiple play throughs. Didn’t find the answer till I went to Funcoland looking for a strategy guide. The guy working there said they didn’t carry it, so he just told me I had to wait for Shadow before escaping the floating content. That dude was a Giga

Yeah, it’s almost insulting that DQ3 and LAL get the treatment before FF6, given that it practically inspired the whole 2D-HD concept.

My guess is they’ll use the PC versions as a test run to see what changes/tweaks might need to be made before the console launch. We’re already heading a lot of complaints.

I’m certain they’ll be on console, likely by the end of the year at most. Though I’m pretty miffed that FF6 didn’t get the 2D-HD treatment. I mean, Octopath took a ton of visual inspiration from FF6, from the style of character sprites to the architecture and environments.

Kotick is a shit bag, but Mitch McConnel is evil incarnate. The man cares about nothing but power and will do anything to keep it. When the republic falls, follow the foot prints back to Moscow Mitch.

This has more to do with Nintendo being set in their ways. I wonder what might’ve changed if Iwata was still around.

Playing the long game seems to have paid off for me. Getting the PS4 version for $20 and the free PS5 upgrade. Still in the shrink wrap. Guess now it’s finally ready to take this bad boy for a spin!

I’d rather Nintendo lend them so BotW devs. Monolith worlds are good, but not that good.

All I care about fixing is the Pokémon storage UI. Forget about the damn graphics, get your priorities straight people!

It it’s been ported to everything from the DS to the iPhone. It can’t be that much of a nightmare, like say, Xenogears.

Kind of, but they’re such completely different games that most people wouldn’t notice they’re in the same universe without Chrono in the title.

That’s a remake though with a lot more money put into it.

Legend of Mana remaster wasn’t bad. Just bare bones and did nothing to address a lot of the mechanical issues of the original game.
