No, they don’t. Game Freak isn’t a subsidiary studio like Monolith. It’s an independent developer that has very close ties to Nintendo and is part of the triumvirate that owns the Pokémon IP, The Pokémon Company. Nintendo does have stocks in Game Freak though.

Reminder that Nintendo doesn’t develop Pokémon and there’s only so much arm-twisting they can do to Game Freak when the games keep selling.

Preaching to choir brother. I literally have a document on my phone where I jot down ideas on how to improve a game when ever they pop in my head. The section on Pokémon is the longest by a wide margin. Though, Arceus did address one of my biggest issues: the open-world exploration is a big step forwards towards an

Agreed with all your points, just wanted to double agree with your last one. I’m loving Legends, but it very much feels like the prototype to a bigger, meatier game. Nintendo needs to bully Game Freak into working with another studio as they seemingly refuse to increase their dev team and prefer to keep it small. Let

Dear God, this direct was a JRPG fan’s wet dream! Chrono Cross, Front Mission, XB3 and Live A Live finally coming west in a gorgeous remake? Stick it to my veins!

Yeah, I’m firmly in the camp that you can’t be more outraged than the person or group that’s actually being affected.

Also ignores the fact that D&D is still a game predominantly played by white geeks though it’s gotten more diverse in the past few decades.

By her logic, every Disney movie about a non-white culture should be heavily-criticized because obviously they’re created from a western-centric viewpoint that cannot be removed from the product. I’m honestly amazed Black Panther didn’t get completely shit on for highly inaccurate portrayals of African culture (a

Who the fuck is this Bertrand guy and why is he such a piece of shit?

Listen, Mark. Can I call you Mark? Here’s the thing. I think it’d be swell if you ate a whole big bag o’ dicks. No judgement, though. OK?

The thing is, you can bring in ringers to do 3D modeling, rigging etc. That’s just an excuse IMO.

There’s clearly internal issues at GF. Wether it’s budget constraints or not wanting to hire the best people, they clearly have been resting on their laurels from having a cash cow mega franchise that sold well no matter how unpolished the product was. I wish Nintendo would actually get involved and have some of their

As someone who grew up in the 16-bit and PS1/N64 generations of early 3D, I have a very high tolerance for “weak graphics”. This game is still much easier on the eyes than Zelda OoT or FF7. Two games that get replayed a lot. It’s just players have different expectations in 2022 than they did in 98. Plus the $60 price

I know quite a few people who are seeing this game partly as a proof of concept that they’re investing in. Not that it isn’t a fun game, but if what they’ve built here leads to a more polished and fleshed out sequel, that’s very exciting personally.

Except this time it’s true. Everything before has adhered very closely too the original template, but this game, much like BotW is an actual paradigm shift.

I’m going to have to call you out on this one Ari. You forgot Slay the Spire! That game makes long flights feel like a trip across town. It’s so damn engrossing. Just brilliant in every sense. The only card-battler that’s come close to scratching that itch has been inscryption.

Seriously, sign me up for the kickstarter. Whatever it takes! Stick it to my veins!

What’s worse is that any mention of the games are always heaps of praise followed by “too bad were never getting a 3rd!”.

I’m sure she’s passionate about it, but if I see another Sisi post on Genshin Impact rolls I’m going to flip my desk.

Precisely. It’s not power in terms of wealth and fame, it’s complete domination over another that he gets off on. Though I’m sure they’re connected. This dude needs to be behind bars.
