Ever see that episode of Band of Brothers were Easy Company stumbles on the concentration camp? They drag all the Germans in town who ignored it over there and forced them to bury all the bodies that had piled up. That’s the kinda comeuppance this dude deserves,

Is there any real difference between the factions? If I were a new player, how would I decide which group to join? Other than the connotation of Imperial (evil)? and alliance (good).

I’m curious about that as well. And is there anything keeping your soldiers from dicking around instead of following orders? Or are EVE players that disciplined?

I second that. DLC like Ghost of Tsushima or Horizon Zero Dawn that adds more levels or content is fine, but the endless season pass model that has taken over so many games can go straight to hell. Manipulation at its best.

That’s what wireless headphones are for. And if you have a TV in the room either way, isn’t common courtesy these days to wear headphones so you don’t bother people? (Assuming you don’t live alone)

That’s the number one reason I’ve been avoiding games recently that have no definite end. You just keep playing for months and months past the point of being fulfilling for daily rewards/loot boxes etc. I haven’t touched an MMO in over 10 years because with adult responsibilities + a time-sucking game means I’d have

I can’t comprehend people who are content working that much unless your job is just super fulfilling.

Ogre Battle might be the most ambitious game I’d ever played. So many brilliant ideas and hidden secrets. I used to rent it from the video store every so often and start a new save. I remember the first time I realized that you could make werewolves by getting a fighter killed by that one boss, or that you could

Definitely one of the shows I always bring up to people who claim they don’t like anime, along with Mob. Monster is a great recommendation for people who want a serious show.

One punch man and Mob Psycho 100 might be up your alley. Also I’d look at Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto-kun.

Really makes me curious what Vanillaware will do next. Kind of hope they go back and do another fast action game like Muramasa, or maybe another crack at a JRPG.

I kind of respect that he didn’t mention Hades like every other GOTY list. Fahey doesn’t jive with that main stream shit!

If you ignore the isekais and Moe trash, you’re bound to find some decent stuff. Then again I’ve enjoyed a few isekai in recent years (Konosuba and Slime, specifically).

There’s certainly a lot more shows and by extension, a lot more crap, but I think any given year, there’s 3-5 anime worth watching. Which is about the same as it was in the 90’s. It’s just more work wading through all the junk to find the good stuff.

The Madoka mention had me in stitches, ngl.

Just got it for Xmas and as someone who’s grown less tolerant of drawn out, visual novel style story-telling, the narrative has really gotten its hooks in me like I wasn’t expecting. Haven’t quite warmed up to the combat yet, but it helps that VW games are so damn pretty.

You didn’t like smashing boxes for a high score or the battle arena(s)?.

I’m very close to buying a replica cart off of Etsy for $20. They look perfect in every aspect, maybe I’ll just gaslight myself. I wouldn’t count on SE for shit.

I would argue that it’s Tactics Ogre. It essentially defined Strategy RPGs for decades and is still largely the blue print for the genre (Fire Emblem has had a lesser effect). All the unconditional love that FF Tactics received rightly belonged to TO.
