God forbid they actually explore sexuality in the story of mechanics of the game. No, I think the dildos speak for themselves. 

I get they want the game to be sexy and on brand with the cyberpunk hedonism motif, but I can’t help but think of a bunch of European man-children developers giggling “Sven look! I put a dildo in the refrigerator! Lolololol!”. Just juvenile humor at its worst.

I only saw the Ebert and Roeper review and they both enjoyed it. Which is why Roger was the best in the biz. 

Everyone I know in my age group has a reverence for SST. Initially as a 90’s  bloody action romp aimed directly at my 11 year old brain and later for its clever satire on war propaganda. I guess some people refused to see that it can be both those things. 

Casting Christina Ricci as an anime character was so on point. 

Huh, I didn’t realize Speed Racer was so reviled. I thought it was surprisingly well-made for a kid friendly 80’s cartoon homage. Of course there’s going to be some cringe since it’s essentially a live action anime. 

I remember a Giant Bomb podcast from way back with the guys from Iron Galaxy talking about all the issues with the dev kits. Like there was only one guy who had the magic touch to get it to boot games from memory (or some such) so he had to sleep in his office in case someone needed him.

Oof. I feel for you. I remember all the horror stories of those janky PS3 dev kits!

Oh, then the best book you’ll ever read is Japan at War. Nothing but personal stories from Japanese people across all walks of life. Soldiers, sailors, pilots, mothers, journalists, reporters, priests, actors, diplomats, communist dissenters, kabuki theatre mangers, you name it.

Thankfully there’s no shortage of JAV streaming sites. Japan’s got your back (and then some). Now if only they perfect that decensoring tech...
