Max Hastings is great. The one thing that turns me off from history times is how by-the-numbers and dry a lot of writing is, but he does an awesome job keeping it just light enough to keep your attention while still doling out the facts. Retribution and Overlord are the ones I’ve read.

I just made the same point. Games were cheaper to make in the 90’s and sold for $60-80. In 2020 they are far more expensive and still sell for $60 (with inflation!) The margin of error is a lot smaller for a medium-sized company’s survival if they release a flop or 2.

If the standard is making a game that appeals to everyone across all demographics then of course no developer is perfect. I don’t particularly care for all the Coen Brothers work, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t great film makers.

If your referring to what I think you are, that game had massive holes in the core gameplay that was promised. Not exactly the same as “not enough dick and vag customization!”. Also find it a little funny the author used the informal “dick”, but still used the medical term “vagina”, because shame!

I can’t remember which futurist author posited the theory, but he said every advancement in computer and cyber technology will be spurred by sexual interest. The first decent androids will be sex bots and so forth. Which totally checks out.
