Actually it was Disney that essentially canceled the shows. It was there contract renewal period so if Disney pulled the license they would have had to pay Netflix money so they did the next best thing, which was to ask for so much money that Netflix was forced to cancel the shows.
They weren’t planning anything for Daredevil, they didn’t have a clear plan then. They just knew they were going to be making Marvel shows for Disney+ and they didn’t want to be spending extra for shows that were going to appear on there competition.
