Well, it’s entirely possible that I’m living in a blue NYC bubble and am persuading myself of one thing because the alternative seems unthinkable. So sure, confirmation bias at work is something to watch out for.

Well, in the first place I must respectfully disagree that it’s going to be eight years. Trump won by a whisker, by the peculiar convolutions of the electoral college, and he’s already the least popular president in his first few weeks in the history of polling.

I’m not sure the odds seem that slim. So far it’s ACLU-1, Trump-0. That may change, but so far, so good.

I’m confused. The DNC doesn’t have control over or even have any significant influence over the Justice Department. What would you have had them do?

The DNC had the entire cyber-operation of a malicious foreign government arrayed against them. The constant drip-drip-drip of hacked emails being released (none of which were particularly interesting or incriminating) hamstrung them. EMAILS were all anybody seemed to care about, a peculiar form of mass hysteria.

How would a civil liberties agency stop or influence an election? They’re there to watch elected officials and make sure they obey the law, not serve as campaigners for one side or another. They’re not a partisan organization.

There will be people, smart people with great resources, watching him very carefully.

I saw that. Fabulous, good for him for taking a really strong stand!

Meanwhile, Tom Udall and Jeff Merkley have also now read the very same letter from the Senate floor. They were not silenced.

That’s exactly right. We know him very well. The more you know him, the more he loses. He’s not even a good con man.
