Yeah, if you're doing the speed limit here (Los Angeles) on the freeway, you're a bottleneck. Everybody is doing 80+ and running close like they're the next Ricky Bobby.

While there are no doubt people who have obtained handicapped placards fraudulently, there are also plenty of people who seem fully able-bodied that really need the spaces. My father has had over a decade of leg and back problems that can go from perfectly fine to inflamed and crippling very quickly with minimal

Apparently Ferrari dreams of an F1 series that is no longer open-wheel.

*Results not typical.

The sort of light touch that might give a conventional wheel a little curb rash would ruin a CF wheel. A blowout would see you driving on your hub in the blink of an eye. CF is hard and rigid, but quite brittle and prone to shattering.

I dunno. I feel like this is a big win for Chevy. The fact is that we're talking about that truck 2 weeks later, which wouldn't have happened if Brady had simply smiled and thanked Chevy for his new truck.

Why is it that UPS and Fedex - who, have no doubt, pay much more attention to both ROI and design impact on efficiency - can make do without custom vehicles? I get the USPS desire for RHD, but that's not really a problem, especially when you're talking about vehicles in these quantities.

Great story. Please post follow-ups on this as the case progresses.

Really? Not only is that a car that has found its (huge) audience, but it was built specifically for the US market. It's not a driver's car in any way at all, but it's perfectly inoffensive.

It's both a country AND a couple of continents. The "United States" part is the organizing principle and the "America" part is the common name. It works exactly the same as "The People's Republic of China" or "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" and nobody argues that those nations shouldn't call themselves China or Mexico.

You make a lot of good points and I'm sure Tesla has considered them, but right now it seems like they need to finish their current fight before they wade into franchising. The reason that manufacturers can't sell directly in many states is that the laws were put into place from screwing over their own franchisees.

It's all ball bearings these days.

It sounds like you're actively trying to avoid being dicks, so good for you guys. I'm sure it creates an experience that builds customer loyalty and a genuinely positive experience. I think there is always a market for a VAR that actually adds value and deals fairly with their customers. Professionally, I'm loyal

Non-automotive marketplaces don't prevent non-franchised businesses. Car dealerships are spreading all this fear because they don't want competition that is allowed to function differently. There is nothing inherently wrong with franchised businesses, but why should the government make franchises compulsory for a

There's also no intermediate entity that needs an additional markup to see a profit. Downward pressure on prices would still come from the competition of other cars in the marketplace. If consumers want to negotiate prices, then certainly they'd be free to do business with a last-century style dealership. I'm not

I didn't think that car salespeople generally received benefits. My father sold full-time for a Chrylser dealership for a few years and he never had insurance or paid sick time.

Really? From Whales?

Our drivers aren't really taught much at all. Driver education in the US is a joke. In most places there is no education requirement at all and the testing is designed to be simple enough that a 16 year old boy (is there a stupider creature?) will almost always pass it on the first attempt. So, no, we are not

I'm sorry to see the grid shrink, but honestly Marussia was never doing anything more than providing a rolling chicane for teams that are actually capable of racing. I can't imagine that a single F1 fan will actually be disappointed by Marussia's absence.

Love it. One of those ideas that's so good it seems obvious. I'll be ripping you off first chance I get!
