Yeah those were the first thing in my mind when I was thinking of other MMOs with good story. They were uneven at times, but overall the total class questline from the base game in SWTOR was amazing. It did a pretty good job of lining up with the planetary storylines, too. Not the best but really impressive feat

Come with me, and you’ll be, in a worrrrld of no imagination!

This is WB, under the umbrella of David Zaslav... Kill it off, ask questions never, destroy everything is basically his modus operandi.

WB: “What kind of game does everybody want?”

Even that one fan is not pleased, because why on earth does Captain Boomerang need a GUN??

Those aren’t mutually exclusive statements. The negative attention pre-dates its release.

I’m reminded of how Michael Eisner basically saved Disney by producing one or two expensive tentpole films per year surrounded by a bunch of low-budget, good-but-not-outstanding movies. Basically the entirety of Touchstone kept the company solvent. The fucking Ernest films prevented a hostile takeover of Disney. And

I also work in the creative arts and this is true. My theory is that art requires empathy and an open-mindedness to new thoughts and ideas. These are all things that your typical conservative does not have.

Well it harkens back to the whole “software artists” pitch in a 1983 ad they ran:

Ending Art

Shooting yourself in the foot because it will result in immediate satisfaction to your ego, and valuing that above all else, is pretty much the extent of discourse in the modern age.

Oh for sure. We need that competition and as many differentiating factors as possibly contributes to that.

I’m not disputing that at all. I’m rather noting that it’s the predominant (and in a lot of games, the only) kind of relationship you can have with these characters; there aren’t often options for a relationship between the characters to have existed before the stressful event, with often contrived total estrangement

VR porn aside (because... why?), this is the attitude that makes me not like Apple. They just fundamentally don’t think that the devices you buy are really yours. They still see them as extensions of their own marketing.

Right? Every time HoYo announce or release a new game I wind up clicking on articles about it because the aesthetics, settings, and gameplay interest me, but then I see it’s gacha and close the browser window (or scroll down to the comment box, as I did this time).

Knuckles watching a geriatric throw a child despite being the only one of the bunch who’s known to climb walls.

A worse timeline: He becomes CEO of Microsoft itself.

People often say “underrated” when they actually mean “overlooked.” In other words, the game didn’t receive the mainstream recognition or success some people thought it deserved.

Yeah if this were day 1 Gamepass I’d jump on it for sure, but $70 of my own money plus tax? Yikes, pass.

The game was Arkham reskinned for Harry Potter, and the world-building in particular was breathtaking. As for J.K. Rowling, she is a piece of shit. Can’t deny that the woman created one of the best-selling franchises of all times though. I look at it like Michael Jackson, an even bigger piece of shit, but damn he made
