I have real trouble believing they’d push it back quite that far unless they really have no other choice.  Missing a holiday season is a big deal.

Didn’t Uwe Boll remark that his movies doing so poorly let him take a bunch of tax breaks?  I wonder if this works for Sony, too.

I’d never heard that one, I like it way better though.  The one I was familiar with was just meant to be a commentary on how terrible EA was when it came to studios they bought out.  Whenever I’d read about a studio being bought by EA in a magazine, I’d just be sad because I knew that was the end for them.

That was sort of the point, though.  It’s obviously not a real acronym, it was just a comment on how terrible it was when a studio was bought by EA.  It was practically a death sentence.

Oh, it’s obviously not a real acronym, it was just something I recall people doing because EA was so terrible when it came to their acquisitions. A studio bought by EA was a studio likely to be gone within a year or two.

It wasn’t really a joke in the sense it was funny, it was more a gallows type of humor. It’s not quite as relevant these days, but EA bought tons of studios that were big names in the 80s and 90s and then ran them into the ground. It’s probably me just showing my age. Not that they’re a better publisher now, but they

You’re probably all just a lot younger.  It wasn’t about the acronym being legitimate, it was about EA buying all those studios back in the 90s and then all of them being gutted and the studio name becoming a shell of itself.  EA buying a studio meant it was likely on the fast track to obsolescence.

There’s already been a longtime joke that the ‘E’ stands for dEveloper and the ‘A’ stands for grAveyard, but Embracer Group manages to actually have the same initials as Elephant Graveyard up front.

Microsoft has already stated that Activision was already planning layoffs.  Now, while trusting suits on their word alone isn’t generally a good idea, it’s also worth noting that the previous guy in charge was Bobby Kotick.  As the paragon of sweetness and light that he is, I’m sure Activision would never have done

This is exactly why fanboys are idiots when they want one or the other to fail.  If only one of these companies is ever left standing, you can be rest assured you’ll get the minimum possible effort on future consoles.

Is Morph’s super power invisibility?  Because I count seven people in the shot and eight names in the description.

In this context, I was referring to characters you are required to buy using real money, not for the game itself, and for me personally that’s a deal breaker. If it’s a F2P game I don’t mind micro transactions in general, but if I’m going to spend money, I want to know exactly what I’m getting. Spins on a slot wheel

It’s interesting that they’ve already gone so far beyond the development time of even the original Hollow Knight.  I’m wondering if it’s going to be far more different than people are expecting.

Feels worth noting that the PS5 is outselling the XSX by almost 2:1, though.  It doesn’t make what Sony did less shitty, but let’s not pretend that MS dropped price because they just have such big hearts.

I think that whirlwind romances would actually be the norm in these situations.  You have a bunch of people facing constant life-or-death situations, the odds that they hook up actually go up quite a bit.  The part where realism would interfere is that most of these relationships would likely come crashing down once

I hate gacha mechanics. I don’t care how much of the game is available without them, if they’re included, I’m going to play something else. Logic has nothing to do with personal taste.  Not to mention, you acknowledge there are characters you do actually have to purchase.  If I want that character, I don’t want a slot

Literally every GotY nominee in 2023 was a single-player game as the main focus. There’s barely any multiplayer in any category. Single player games are fine, EA is just terrible at being a publisher. As the old joke goes, the ‘E’ stands for dEveloper and the ‘A’ stands for grAveyard.

That’s quite a shift in genres.  Gunpoint was a lot of fun though.  I loved the series of missions you handle for the chief where you can just openly report everything that incriminates yourself.  I was completely honest with him because the way they wrote it was so much fun.

I think it’s more about the internet than people being different then vs. now. These people have always existed, but the internet has made it incredibly easy for them to link up and make noise completely out of proportion to how much the average person cares about it.

To be fair, he has always been kind of a dick.
