OK.. I’ll say everyone who complains that ST has become political is an idiot. And they have never been subtle about their ideology, but still... ST may have used a sledgehammer in the past to insert their political ideas into the show but this is a steamroller. You’re a SciFi show, not a campaign platform. It’s your

No shape-changey powers? Did Disney not want to commit enough of a VFX budget to make them look good? That sparkly quantum band stuff is pretty underwhelming.

Seeing her take center stage for her show is an exciting step, especially as Kamala Khan is the first original standalone comics character to be released on Disney+

Space camel.

Too bad Stanton did everything he could to sabotage the project, refusing to take advice to position the movie to succeed even before Disney's marketing bungled it further. Highly recommend the book on the production ("John Carter and the Gods of Hollywood") to see the countless ways everyone involved could not get

I don’t understand this particular argument. They’re not causing a supply issue and they’re offering things that are out of reach, as an entire package, for others. It’s still expensive but less expensive than paying for the full “experience”.

The very existence of a $6,000 hotel room for Star Wars is the zenith of capitalizing on the experience.

I take issue with saying that Star Wars’ “dark ages” was a thing of the 90's, particularly the first statement in this article that characterizes the 90's as the dawn of the “dark ages”. Heir to the Empire was released May 1, 1991 and it was #1 on NYT’s best seller’s list by June 30, 1991. The time in the 90's before

Sounds like she got all the Napoleon complexes riled up something fierce.

Over on YouTube, “The Critical Drinker” had an astute assessment of what we know so far. Basically Galadriel was never a warrior princess, rather, she stayed away from battle.

Let’s not kid ourselves. We got between five shows and one crossover event we got maybe two goods season of TV. Pretty much none of these shows could manage a decent second season and some failed right out of the gate.

The weirdest part about this is how the band has kept making the worst possible decision, apparently deliberately. It’s certainly problematic to be named after the pre-war south, but they weren’t even in the top ten most overtly racist country acts, so I doubt it was hurting them much.

Then they changed their name to

The motivation of the band has been so confusing. Like, you’re already changing your name, pick something else.

I don’t see any evidence of “badassery” in the OT. In TESB, Boba takes the job from Vader (along with a bunch of other bounty hunters), tracks the Falcon to Bespin, and appears in a handful of scenes where he mostly stands around a room and one very brief gunfight with Luke. And that’s it. Then he shows up in RotJ

Clearly, bringing in the heads are enough to claim a bounty, as we saw, and he’s got his little jumpseat in the former droid socket to throw someone in. He just has to change his catchphrase to, “I can bring you in big, or I can bring you in small.”

It’s pretty obvious that Djarin’s about to give up the bounty hunter game; the next season is supposed to be about the Mandaloreans reclaiming their homeworld. And the bubble top where the droid housing used to be is clearly going to be where his “little friend” sits.

Like I said the other day, the scene where Pelli and Mando salvage the N-1 is a metaphor for the Star Wars shows’ ongoing redemption of prequel lore. (The second half of the episode feels like it’s going FUCK YOU J.J. the entire time.)

Fuck Selman and the whole team. Clausen did dozens of styles throughout the years - there were boy band episodes, an Indian version of “Close to You”, Disney parodies, fake musicals, “Can I Borrow a Feeling”, Barbershop, hip hop parodies, etc. Saying he only did big band and jazz is just an outright fucking lie.

I’d be totally fine with that, too. My aim here is mostly to prevent Shuri from taking on that mantle. My opinion of MCU Shuri could not possibly be lower (whatever she’s like in the comics, IMO, is a non sequitur).

I’m a spoiler whore in general, but I’ll be actively seeking out spoilers for this movie to find out if Shuri becomes Black Panther. If she does, then it’ll be a pass for me. That would’ve been the case even before I found out that she was a transphobic anti-vaxxer because I couldn’t stand the character in the first
