I would like a version of this in which I could mix and match my own combinations.

I hope my VHS player keeps working long enough to get all my home movies ripped.

The trick to simplifying banking and bill paying is to do it all once a month on or about the same day.

I hope the 2 meter HDMI cables I bought for $0.26 each work!

I thought it was standard procedure to disable the built-in guest account.

@Sactastic: It's actually flushable paper clothing in 5 attractive colors.

Hell, half the time I can't get a store to take a coupon printed off the internet. There's no way they are going to accept someting displayed on my phone + I don't want my phone dropped (again)!

Open the flue all the way when starting the fire. After getting a good fire going and you have a hot bed of coals, close the damper as much as you can while making sure the smoke still goes up the chimney, not in the house. This will let less heat go up the chimney.

@TheOtherHalf: The regulator on the meter determines the pressure delivered to your plumbing. I personally wouldn't mess with it though. Call a plumber.

Beware that some retailers (online or otherwise) may not let you combine gift cards/certificates on the same purchase. One year I requested and received 3 gift cards to the same online-only retailer. Once I got to checkout I found they would only allow me to use one gift card per purchase. :(

Uhm, when I picked a favorite show, they just linked to the network that hosts the show. #television

I'm all into making use of stuff that would otherwise be thrown away but there is such thing as a rechargeable 6V lantern battery. #battery

If I replay a program recorded to DVR or use the "pause live" function, I always skip commercials. If I catch up to live TV, I pause it and do something else until I've shifted enough time to skip some more commercials. #tv

I would really like to make a profoundly revealing comment on this topic, but I'm afraid it might be traced back to me somehow.

Number 4 above suggests Windows Home Server can be used as a DVR if a tuner is installed. Most of what I've read about WHS says it's mostly a storage and backup system. The "original post" doesn't even mention WHS.

@wyldrose: That is off the wall. I wonder why it was included? If you want a related money saving tip, don't buy any of the products the article recommends! #winterize

I have a programmable t-stat. It helps save a lot on the utility bills. If you don't have one, get one. They are fairly easy to install and there are numerous online guides available to help.

@psychiccheese: Funny (not for the owner). Are there any websites dedicated to pointing out stuff like this found in "street view"?

@bornonbord: It could smoke the drive and possible mess up the power supply. #winter
