This album and the Strokes' Is This It pretty much defined my (at the time) modern taste in music. It opened the floodgates to music that let me, even in my "I know everything" teenage snobbery know that, hey, it's okay to like music made more recently than 1979.

I don't think it counts as pandering necessarily, to try to reach the demographics that don't tune in to traditional media. At least it isn't anymore pandering than making the traditional rounds to raise publicity for an issue. I for one find it fascinating to watch the podcast medium grow the way it has been to the

This game was about half the reason I wanted a PS3, and sadly now there's a chance I won't ever have a chance to play it in its entirety, but I'm still thrilled to see it alive again.

I dunno, Ico and SotC both had fakeout deaths… I wouldn't be surprised if a post-credit scene shows both the boy and Trico alive, though the ending is sure to be bittersweet regardless.

You should check out his Late Show Podcast. Episodes are pretty short so far, and it's some fun behind the scenes stuff. According to the most recent one, the current to-do list on the whiteboard in their office reads:
1. Suit still fit?
2. Write all material

For anyone interested in new podcasts with lots of potential, check out Wolfpop's Black List Table Reads. They make these sort of radio-dramas from as-of-yet unmade screenplays, complete with a musical score and sound effects. So far they've only done two screenplays (each divided into four episodes, so you get one

I don't think R'hollor (the Red God) has been explicitly connected to Valyria, but the magic of it's priests does seem connected to the dragons. Thoros, for example, was pretty much considered a fraud until Dany's dragons hatched. After that he was able to see visions in fire and raise Beric Dondarrion from the dead

Or is it going to be the longest and coldest winter in a very long time because he attacks? My theory is that with the Targaryan rulers gone, Westeros is now ripe for conquer. Partly because the people are no longer one unified nation after the war of five kings, but partly because the Targaryans are from Valyria

The dragon glass (and as seen now, Valyrian steel) insta-kill the White Walkers but not the undead wights. Against the wights a dragon glass hatchet wouldn't be any more effective than a regular one. The wight battle doesn't quite square up with the source material, as in the books the only way to permanently put down

The last Harry Potter ends: "All was well." Might as well say "And they all lived happily ever after" if you're going to brush that close to it.

The idea that this is Roland's penultimate journey is nice but we can't really know of course. All we know for sure is that this time he seems to have made progress, done one better than last time, and presumably after enough tries he'll get it right. I actually saw somewhere an idea that if they ever do make the Dark

I once wrote a research paper on Paul Rand, Saul Bass, and other American modernist designers and I find it crazy how there was a time when graphic designers / graphic artists were rockstars their own world. Paul Rand sold corporate identities for tens of thousands of dollars, and this is in 1950s-60s money. Many of

So Michael Rapaport is a New York City cop who has been on the force since the mid nineties (19 years) and has a tendency to misplace important police gear… So the question is, why did he change his name after dating Pheobe in Friends?

I think I have to disagree with you on all of those except for Hedwig. Hedwig's death was not only arbitrary but also pretty implausible, caught in the crossfire of a wizard battle while in a cage. I think I understand the author's intent, Hedwig was basically Harry Potter's (the book and the character) first

I had assumed this had something to do with giant's blood in his ancestry, that perhaps giants and humans aren't 100% compatible and sometimes weird things happen as a result. Looking at the Song of Ice and Fire wiki there's a theory that "Hodor" is the name of the Great Other, the opposite force of Melisandre's Red

O Coens, Where Art Thou?

"Here at Lannister Investment Group we have built strong and mutually beneficial relationships with some of the community's most prominent growing businesses. Proof of our commitment to Westeros can be seen in the success and expansion of such respectable establishments as Bolton's Leather and Upholstery and Frey

It would be cool if the markers could be color coded here by album or something, and we could see if there were any patterns about locations he was singing about through his timeline

I dunno, he could shave his eyebrows. He could be eyebrows less bald.

Very exciting stuff. Of course there was zero chance that the character of the Master was gone for good, but I'm glad Gomez gets to reprise the character. And so soon too! I wonder two things: First if / how her reappearance might further the missing Gallifrey plot, and second if her Tardis will play a significant
