Tried it for about 10 minutes last night. Performance was bad, I had a weird visual bug at the bottom of the screen when I turned on DLSS, and the game crashed (3 times) as soon as I flipped the switch for RT. This is on an RTX 3070
This is not the Switches fault.
And Final Fantasy XVI is not one of them
The main hook for the games is always the whole futuristic society interacting with an underdeveloped planet and bringing their technology and problems with them.
Would love to see this since it is by far the least accessible of the games with no easy way to play it on modern platforms and I believe it is the only main RE game to never receive a PC relase.
RE1-3 originals were never on steam. They did get PC versions back in the day but they are long since out of print and to my knowledge have never been available on any PC digital storefront.
Unfortunately that was released before MS’s decision to release all first party games on PC, so that would mean buying an XBox One or Series almost entirely just for that (and Halo 5)
All jokes aside. With a competent studio at the help, a VR Silent Hill game could be amazing.
I have an OSSC. With prerendered assets (DKC, Resident Evil, etc), and 3D games, it still looks like ass, but with 2D games, They look stunningly good. Was playing Mega Man 8 on my PS2 through it a few weeks ago, looked fantastic.
Can we get jet force Gemini next? Would love to play that game with a better framerate and more modern controls.
The Vita was an amazing little handheld. It would have been great if Sony didn’t give up on it before it was released.
Biggest shock for me isn’t that Konami is going back to Suikoden, but that they’re actually putting effort into something that isn’t a pachinko machine.
It’s very possible, though it does take some effort. There are discords, and twitter accounts devoted to letting people know when these things go available. It’s how I got my hands on a 3070 and PS5 early last year. Haven’t checked it in a while but the twitter user I followed to get my PS5 was Matt Swider. Got an…
It does look better. The question is did it really need this? You do have diminishing returns coming into play here. The original, despite being a late gen PS3 game, still looks good, and it’s PS4 remaster even better.
Yea, but updates breaking mods isn’t exactly uncommon. I’m not sure why it’s getting such pushback in this particular instance.
I don’t even get what there really is to be excited about. Kojima, a popular and accomplished game designer is working on a new video game? no shit.
Hence why I said “Would be best if it was a mixing of the two”. Even then, they could just add controllable party members to FES. Pretty sure there’s a mod for PCSX2 that let’s you do that.
I hope P3P isn’t a straight port. It’s missing a lot of content compared to FES. Would be best if it was a mixing of the two.
Remaster, not remake. Just some touchups thanks to the more powerful hardware. Believe Textures and lighting got an upgrade, and it also added Raytracing. Digital Foundry did a comparison if you are curious.
