I enjoy both of them. My question I guess is how big do they really need to be? They’re both starring in film and/or TV prestige material, getting good notices and both really pretty young. IMO, they’re doing just fine.

Ahem, Hitchcock’s “The Birds” would like a word.
I’m not going to try and refute most of what you said because I agree for the most part. I just want to defend my admittedly armchair diagnosis by stating there’s a reason I used both ability AND inclination. I do however find this seriously troubling from a generational perspective and I’m curious as to motivators…
That lion gif though, talk about a teaser. I’m not sure I’ve ever wanted to see a violent scenario played out more.
I’m not certain the type of people were speaking about have either the inclination or ability for quiet self-reflection. Angry narcissists rarely do, their instinct is find blame outside themselves. Maybe we could send these men to monk-led buddhist boot camps or something.
You make a great point. If anything it’s never been easier for someone lacking 1 of those criteria (esp. the wealth angle, which historically was really the only one men needed). I’m pretty feckin’ poor but I’ve pulled some pretty great women with great professional lives because I genuinely love women and at times…
Interesting possibility, definitely.
That was the cultural analog I thought of right away too, at least as far as the type of character she represents possibly. I’m surprised no one’s talked at all about the symbolism of this episode as far as the fear/fearful people dichotomy. Is it a critique of the alt right, or just extremism in general?, I really…
“... we’re way too concerned with stopping the poor from getting away with anything to stop the rich from getting away with everything.”
The quote from the writer should have said, “The Office was an objectively funny sitcom.” The way I worded it would have actually been acceptable. Who’s the wearing the dunce cap know?
They should have called the constabulary.
These kind of articles are annoying...but not too annoying. Comment section should be fun. Oh, and how did I know someone would write about Wilco? It’s also just my opinion (and this might seem controversial, ha ha) but Billie Joel and his fans can feck themselves: a huge douche trailed by all his little bags. Alright…
Yeah, I’d be willing to bet the average pedestrian in a crowded metro area is inhaling as much or more incidental CO from vehicles than from cigs.
Yeah, so a bunch of cowardly rednecks can play with their guns. Every dead child should be sitting heavy on these assholes’ conscience when they stroke those barrels but sociopaths don’t have consciences so...
Ayoade is a treasure.
Man, I could not agree more. I guarantee a few of these ammosexuals go to prison and the rest would get a lot more careful.
Yeah, this guy’s thinking (if you can call it that) so far outside the box, I’m pretty CERTAIN he’ll never get a glimpse of a feline. Groan. It’s either this or crying.
I really kind of feel guilty for even smirking at a time like this, but it’s one of those: “If I don’t laugh, I’ll cry” moments, and “orange windsock” is fecking hilarious.
I can’t help but think about the old chestnut about hypocrites and the temperature of their eternal residence when I see shit like this. “Burn, burn, yes you’re gonna burn!”
That’s helpful. Hoser.
