Anytime I’ve had to do this, I’ve just sent the entire amount to the bank (After verifying the pay off/that they hold the lien). That way, seller doesn’t risk taking a bad check from me, I know that the money goes to pay off the lien, and then any extra the bank cuts to seller...
Just like to note that in the case of the Canyon. The “small” trucks that are currently offered make no sense. They get either less or similar mileage to a fullsize, cost damn near the same, and for someone with kids the backseat is a joke if you are going to use it as a people hauler in between jobs.
If he switches to wood, does this mean he’ll only buy beaters with termites?
Found a dealer with brand new 2013 Prius C’s for a crazy price several states away. Email the guy and he calls me, confirms price. I confirm interest, he overnights paperwork. 0% through toyota, crazy price (even tried taking paperwork to local dealers who wouldn’t match it). Signed paperwork, overnighted back to them.
Put the bag of rust on ebay, some crazy sombiotch on here will buy it. I only ask for 5.6% of the proceeds for the idea. It may take the car to net 0 if ur lucky.
See my comment in the story a year or two similar to this. Their “inspection” led to me paying a fee to have a car moved from I think Detroit to Cincy. Test drove the car, cooled seats were broken, I think another interior item or two were broken, the front bumper was scraped badly in several spots down to plastic,…
It was sad, his 2nd one he sold for roughly 6-7 k about 2 years back, it was freaking mint and low miles (because he stopped driving it lol). If it didn’t have the tire issues, it wasn’t a bad car.
8-12k miles you could tell. He put a lil over 30k on it a year. It was clear that it was not aligned right, even though they sent it to 2 dealers and an outside tire shop that said it was ok.
My neighbor, who’s german, and the guy that’s out in shorts in 40degree weather washing, polishing and waxing his car after doing every single tiny piece of recommended maintenance before the actual mileage occurs - had one of these.
No Lowballs - I KNOW WHAT I’VE GOT. Rocket AC just needs a charge.
Insurance is WAY less on this also or at least was - Owned a LGT back in maybe ‘10 and insurance for a married, 30+ guy for a WRX vs LGT was insane.....
Picture of blue silverado in background, not brand new, but newish.
Mine is very odd/specific - but it comes from a guy I used to hang around with when I was hardcore into cars was probably 50s/60s. His Dad was into cars back in the day, and anytime he was excited/proud of something he’d worked on he’d hop out of the car and say “I’mma drive this sombiotch to Tuscan, Arizona” (we live…
My semi-recent experience....
On a highschool trip to PA, we are in a downtown area and my dad is driving myself and my best friend. We look to the side and a guy laying on a gurney is FLYING down a massive hill on the sidewalk. People were just watching, no one tried to stop him. The guys face was manic looking, like he caused it, or wanted it…
Nah - the driver was trying to get their hub caps to line up in the exact same position at each wheel. They are looking at mirror glass in a building nearby. For whatever reason, every time they make the dealer line the wheels up so the hubcaps are in perfect unison, they are out of sync when they get home. Clearly…
Combo here....
Man - been there. Back in the early 00's I was heavy into SR20 powered cars. I often bought/fixed them up and kept my faves for a while.
CPO Lincoln MKZ 13+ Get the 2.0 Ecobeast. Not manual, but can be fun in sport mode. CPO keeps you out of pocket free until 100k miles, it’s essentially a ford so parts for wear items are generally cheap and plenty of trunk/back seat room.
