I used to live in suburban Detroit, and had to commute to MOAB every year.  And to make matters worse, I only ever owned broken down jeeps, and it ALWAYS seemed that when a trip was coming up, I’d have to work all night to fix them, so that I could make the trip in time.  It was TERRIBLE!

IIRC, the Willamette river is the unfortunate recipient of sewer overflow from the city of Portland.  So, depending on these cars being UPSTREAM for the city, or DOWNSTREAM, that “silt” might be something else. 

Or maybe they’ll drive it to MOAB and back, IF THEY CAN FINISH IT IN TIME!
