As a guy who used to drive janky (as you guys say) cars. It’s always disheartening to hear the engine stop. That redneck part of your brain says “Oh no, not again!”.

IIRC they were HELLATIOUSLY expensive to repair, and keep if you are unable to do the maintenance yourself. Tavarish could probably get one for $8900, and keep it going. Us? Not so much!

If I had this car, and I saw this video yesterday, and looked up the price! I would drive it TO the track, ON the track, and then FROM the track. Along with the occasional trips to the store, C&C, etc.

(Waits patiently for the WA DMV to see your plate, and cancel it on you.) They have an idiot who DOES that. Scans the net for pictures (or videos) of Atoms with Washington plates, and then send you a “Your car isn’t street legal, your plates are invalid” letter.

I drove my Atom to get groceries, and to Best Buy. It was in the garage, the weather was nice, why not? And, there was ALWAYS a crowd when I got back to it.
