Eternal Darkness is still one of my favorite games, but it's almost an indie title. The code quality wasn't really there, the cinematics were a joke, interface was clumsy, etc. But it all fell together with gameplay mechanics that were totally unique, a story that had gone crazy, etc.

As a professional game designer, this isn't an open-and-shut case. When I worked at Harmonix on Karaoke Revolution, we started with everything open and available. The theory was that music was an intensely personal thing, to be explored at users own pace. What happened? People played the 3 songs they knew, and

I kept thinking "how do they have photographs of something that is supposed to keep you from being photographed?"

Be aware that any movie that isn't filmed at or upscaled to the native resolution of the screen will look blurry. Which is to say, 720p upscaled to 1080p will look significantly better than 720p running on 1080p without upscaling. 720p running natively on a 720p screen, however, will look sharper sill.

What's the worst part of phone gaming? No dedicated controller. If this also works as a normal droid phone, Nvidia can have my money*.

So, she got a symbol of bigoted domestic oppression, when she meant to get a symbol of bigoted international oppression?

There is a weird thing about missing a TV show, where the initial 0 cost makes it feel "OK" to go download a pirated copy. Add in arbitrary international restrictions, and without a viable outlet you might as well download it.

Does anyone know if this does Apple's "I found real apple hardware so I'm going to charge twice as fast" charging?

Most F1 racers use some form of electrical KERS, which is a fancy term for a purpose-built hybrid. With certain F1 rules around the electrical system being relaxed, that's only going to improve.

Why are people so opposed to these things? Whenever an article comes out, it seems like people object to the basic concept of a computer driving a car. That there is something inherently inhuman about a software-driven car.

Note that most of the slow-motion shots are of the skateboard, which CG has traditionally been good at modeling (like cars). The only shots of him are the thumb, which look generated, and the eye, which is decent but not perfect. They eschew any clothes other than the rubber and leather of the shoe, and use nifty

Or maybe, they knew the world *is* going to end, but wanted to make sure we could still see the video they made.

I'm not sure for straight rappelling, but when climbing the barrel screws can be opened if the rope rubs against it in a way that would unwind the screw. It's not common, but it does happen if you're not careful with your setup.

As an occasionally competitive fighting player, I appreciate Capcom releasing cheesy and comprehensive update videos like this. The title update is also appreciated, and the active development means I may pick up a copy of SFxTK.

Don't forget "The Invader." http://elcomics.tumblr.com/

You can always have steam start by Default... Though I suspect the normal use case will be "leave the thing on all the time, and it just wakes up into Steam. Leave the wireless mouse in the closet."

Oddly, the part that got me was the raw fact that the gun isn't firing. It's like the artist knew that triggers and fingers are involved with making guns shoot, but they didn't quite understand how they all came together.

Games didn't dither! Another poster pointed out that the NES had a particular palette, as well as what that was. What they didn't mention was that to really capture the NES feel, it needs to be tileable... look for blocks of color or texture that could be repeating, and repeat them gosh darned it. Straighten those

I frequently find myself trying to load up a website on my laptop (a reasonably high-end i7), but after 30 seconds or so of booting / loading / that annoying pause where nothing happens, I'll just fire up my phone and look at it there.

Now playing

Perhaps you're thinking of... Treevenge?
