That is what those snorkels are actually for. The water fording was a bonus, but it was to get the intakes of pobably military trucks out into clean air. On its own a snorkel won’t save you in deep water

Getting the air inlet up above the dust is kind of a big deal.. granted the water fording ability it gives you is great, but blasting down a back road kicking up dust and following someone else id rather make it mildly easier on the engine to breathe by having the air just a touch cleaner.

I don’t know which it is, but I do know I am sure as hell going to miss him when he retires.

Gossage doesn’t seem to realize the bigger issue is how many fans he is missing that weekend since it is also opening weekend of deer season in Texas. Definitely more problematic for his fan base.
