I didn't catch it until the comments here. ;-)

Which we now realize is Seattle. ;-)

It was so weird (for the reasons you mention) that I was wondering if she might be a Frankish spy.

People have been dragging boats as long as we've made them. My problem with this plot development isn't the portage, just the silly and haphazard way Ragnar decides to do it (up a cliff and over unknown terrain, out of his sight).

I see a couple people (elsewhere) have picked up on the spoiler, but are also being tight-lipped. ;-)

Amy Bailey is chatty on Twitter and very supportive of the show and her experience with Michael Hirst. I think she was actually surprised to be continued into Season 4 and wanted a break for her new kids.

He'll go buh-bye in Episode 9. Not at Bjorn's hand.

Yeah, the actors just casually pull the bowstring back with a couple of bare fingers. I doubt the absolute range of the prop bows could be more than 20 or 30 yards.

But I don't think the Franks had it. You're right that Greek fire exists in this period of history, though, so maybe I should just give this a pass. The Moors will use Greek fire to great effect against Bjorn as he heads home from the Mediterranean.

She sounded frustrated. I'm sticking to my pet theory that Yidu was a failed character, ushered offstage at the first convenient moment. I think you're right that the herd will be thinned over the next two weeks. I'll be very surprised if Erlendur isn't shown the door in Episode 9. I still think both brothers will

If there's one thing you'd expect from Robin Hood or Hook, it's that they'd be effective fighters. Yet they're almost never fighting, and when they do, they invariably lose and must be rescued by their girlfriends.

Having a bunch of characters does not an ensemble make. And we don't need the show to continue as some version of Agents of SHIELD. I really expected Agent Coulson to step out of one of those black SUVs at the end of the show.

No, I think it was how he escaped the failed character.

I meant in general. I'm Team Saxon. ;-)

Turnabout is fair play. ;-)

Good to see you again, btw. Followed you on Twitter.

I'm aware that wall and field boundaries are sometimes visible through drought or seasonal variation, and that this has been known since at least the beginning of the aviation age. But the innovation of near-IR imaging and the scale of satellite observation (plus the cheapness of computing time to process it all)

You should do that. You'll get no argument from me. :-)

Oh, I think there's a spoiler hidden in the Episode 9 promo (as there was regarding the death of Yidu in Episode 8).

Well, Norse culture was communal. They lived in extended family groups in longhouses and wouldn't have enjoyed anything like our modern standards of privacy. Kids would see sex their whole lives.
