I think I might step out this afternoon and finally see The Martian, and no one will give a shit because I get my work done.

You are quite right about The Abyss. Until you mentioned it I hadn’t realized it was missing from the article and what a glaring omission it is.

Just because you can buy Star Wars tickets tonight, doesn’t mean you need to.

Dang, some excellent omissions you pointed out there!

Labyrinth & The Dark Crystal aren’t Science Fiction, they are Fantasy and Fable so that’s probably why they didn't make the scifi list.

The 13th floor did turn out better than I expected. I rented it with a friend on a laugh and we actually kind of liked it.

The only one of these I have any level of disagreement about is Labrynth, since it strikes me as being clearly not sci-fi, under the broadest reasonable definition. The Abyss is so much more important than, say, Serenity, which doesn’t have much appeal beyond fans of the show. Also, why doesn’t Explorers get the love

The Last Starfighter was the biggest glaring omission on this list IMHO After reading your list I would definitely have included Edge of Tomorrow, too. I would’ve also included Silent Running. I do think CJA excluded some of yours because they were more properly fantasy.

They were close to the fuel window on a potential final stop, so the gas man tried to leave the can in as long as possible. If anyone cares

As long as it comes and goes.

Nah, they need to name their car Chameleon.

Stage 2 as a whole seemed a bit easier this year. There was no major test of balance (like the floating tank) prior to the final obstacle of the course. And even on stage three, the pole grasper (or whatever it’s called) and Area 51 seemed a bit of a downgrade in difficulty as competitors were able to use their legs

All I wish is Levi would of stayed but he is now a farmer. I miss him and his amazing video along with Brian and his facial hair flipping off docks into sand self.

The fact that I have the name of a Japanese fisherman permanently ingrained in my memory is astounding.

Good for him, but NAGANO!!!! will always be my Ninja Warrior.

Nagano. That's all I have to say.

There’s one thing that needs to happen in order for the ATV to become “the nerve center of the house” or whatever. It needs a cable TV pass-through. Without a cable TV pass-through, it’s just another device I have to switch to when I want it do perform a specific task, and not the always-on, always-being-used device

THE SAGA CONTINUES

“Teasers are usually rich kids with nothing to do. They cruise around looking for planets that haven’t made interstellar contact yet and buzz them, meaning that they find some isolated spot with very few people around, then land right by some poor unsuspecting soul whom no one’s going to believe and then strut up and
