AC/DC Live is one of the few albums that I kept with me. First bought it when I was 10 on cassette, then again as on CD in High School. Now I have it on iTunes.

I really, really like scotch heavies and wee heavies. Old Chub my first SH too. Since then I like to drink them with a nice cigar.

That chat log could be the script for a new David Lynch movie.

Best description of Joe Biden. That potato salad/tallboy bit will play well in the flyover states. Run it as a campaign commercial and he's a shoe-in for 2016.

The only two people on earth who know the lyrics to all the Coldpplay songs: Jennifer Lawrence and my dad.

I don't think it sounded that bad for a live performance. I'd rather have some actually singing that boring lip synching. Usher also sounded oaky, but again, at least he sang live for most of his performance.

Yeah a few people have mentioned that. Though I personally can see the need for a small, highly trained SWAT team. The thing is a SWAT team is NOT designed for crowd control and NOT every police officer can or should be a SWAT officer.

Well the police also usually have a union or fraternal order, and they vote in a pretty solid block. If your the city council member who denies their request, then you better be ready for them to go after you come election time saying you don't suport police and don't care if they get killed by gun-wielding criminals.

It was brought before the city council, and we definitely wrote about it multiple times. There was, however, no one angry enough about it to show up to the city council meetings or influence the vote. Mostly they just complained online, lol.

To be fair, those DOJ grants can be used for any police equipment, but year. I'm not really comfortable with the DOJ giving away money to department to buy tanks and guns.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

This is a hell of an article.

How is a bunch of unarmed people protesting in the street anarchy? As Far as I could tell, the only people causing injury, destruction and general chaos last night were the cops.

It's a great article.

I stand corrected. Thanks for it info.

It's pretty interesting to see how technology can shape the perception of theses kinds of event. I wonder what the narrative of the LA riots would have been any different if everyone on the ground was able to take photo and video and transmit it in real time (aside from the professional news crews).

Well again, the primary function of the police isn't and has never been to operate as a paramilitary group. Basically their job is to respond to and investigate crimes, stop crimes in progress and generally be around to help their community. The bulk of their training is focused on that, not "riots"

Yes. And you know who ended up killing those guys? SWAT snipers, I belive. See, I understand the possible need for a small, highly trained SWAT team... but from what I know.. all those guys do is train with that type of equippmnet for these very specific types of situations. But as usual, everyone wanted to be the

Well, the police clearly are looking at this as an "us versus them" situation, and the community clearly has no trust or faith in them. The community is angry at the way they have been treated, and the abuse and oppression they have to live with from the police on a daily basis.

Just try to cut the defense budget and see how upset the DOD gets. They like their toys... so do the contractor that build and sell them.
