Your experience sounds like my dad’s experience at the end of Vietnam ‘71- ‘73 USMC. He never spoke of his service when he left the Marines. Only after 9/11 & the start of Iraq war did he start celebrating his service because society became more accepting of veterans. Best of luck Beaggha.
