I fail to see anywhere that he seems upset by them using “their” idea.
He is making a valid point that based on what we know this is a untested idea and it needs to be put though it proper tests.

The reason it is harder is because while power is the same at the wheels the torque is lower. Power is conserved.

Gears do no such thing.
Energy is conserved at all times (unless we are getting nuclear here).
Power is energy per unit time. Humans can put out a certain amount of power and bikes just make it much more efficient.
So yes, that is the whole point, you are just wrong.

Gear ratios don’t add and power to the bike. Adding any motors would be adding power that is the big difference. I don’t always like some of the stuff you right, and this is one, but only because you were so close to having made some sense.

This is why I don’t like this car.
It shouldn’t be able to compete in the GT class at Le Mans or other racing series. They were racing it before the even built it for road use, and now they will only build a few.
