Tell Me Your Secrets has the benefit of being a lot pulpier. Most of the drama in I Know This Much Is True comes from relatively common experiences (divorce, mental illness, family estrangements, career disappointments, bad parenting/abuse)—they’re things that aren’t hard to imagine going through yourself if you’ve

She probably thinks Greek isn’t white.

I will tell my grand kids [sic] that punctuation is important.

I wonder if he also went to the School of Hard Knocks and is employed at Self Employed.

I can’t help but notice how she described herself as a 22 year old girl but calls a 14 year old boy a “guy”. Black children are often automatically aged up to make them appear more threatening and to give people an excuse to disrespect, harass and assault them. She also refers to them as “the son” and his father as

Since when is it not possible for a person who is Vietnamese or Puerto Rican to harbor animosity toward black people?

My stepdad (who raised me from age 11 to 19-20 when he passed away) was Hispanic and I spent lots of time with his family. My white biological dad (who left my mom before I was born) I met once at age 6 and never saw again. My first serious girlfriend was Puerto Rican, I took 4 years of Spanish in high school and can

This feels like it’s sort of fallout from “privilege” conversations - that because she does not identify as white, it’s somehow a different situation. But it isn’t, as you said. It’s racism, pure and simple.

No you fucking can’t claim the ethnicity of the people that raised you unless you actually are that fucking ethnicity.

“If she wants to identify this way, she is more than entitled.”

Looks like these people should be telling their grandprobably below average kids to stay in school.

I always forget that this person exists. There’s an inifinitely better Jason Alexander out there, anyway...

who claims on Facebook that he is a “journalist researcher at conspiracy theories and history”’

Your deranged accusations about whatever I did or did not do with the toilet paper clearly spring from a place of hurt and jealousy. The sheer illogic seems dispositive to me.

Minor typo alert: "lie detector tests aren't considered to be full-proof" - I think you mean "fool-proof"? Although, "full-proof" makes me think of alcohol, and now I' m thinking that using 100 proof alcohol as a lie detector test might be more effective....

Also, thanks for writing this. WA's response just stinks like
