Right? “Racist” is the only “racial(ly tangential) slur” that actually bothers white people.

That’s the most crazyballs part of this, to me. Like, ‘white supramacists’ are not a fucking race, on what planet is calling somene that “racially insensitive?”

The government can’t interfere in speech and when the President’s press secretary says “fire her” then that’s the highest level of government interfering with speech. Your failure to understand does not mean we are all stupid.

That was true, until the president of the United States, as the head of the government, decided to weigh in. Now it is a first amendment issue.

I can’t see ever giving that the benefit of the doubt. What armor is involved? There’s no armor in basketball. Uh, yeah, it becomes a goddamn First Amendment issue when high-ranking members of the government actively attempt to get you fired for it.

When a government spokesperson calls for you to be fired for your free speech it is a fucking First Amendment issue.

The misunderstood First Amendment argument is one of my pet peeves.

These conservative snowflakes think every should respect free speech when they posted all kinds of terrible shit about Obama. But make one legitimate observation about actual words of the president, followed up by a double then triple downing on it and their sensibilities are so fragile!

When the Executive Branch of our government is openly calling for someone to be fired because of her speech, the First Amendment argument is definitely valid.

These are the same people who consistently conflate “calling out racism” with “being racist against white people.”

Our country has moved so far to the right that people who openly call themselves “conservatives” are basically authoritarians. It isn’t about consistency in the law, it’s about using your power to silence people you don’t like.
